Geese

There are plenty of geese around to hunt. Hunting seasons are open to Nonresidents.

There are two types of seasons available.

The first type is Snow goose hunting. Nonresidents are required to have Hunters Education if they are born after 1961. They also much obtain a nonresident license to hunt geese and adhere to North Dakota hunting regulations.

We usually have thousands of snow geese migrate through the area in the spring and fall.

The next type of geese to hunt is the Canadian goose.

We have Canadian honkers on our property, and plenty throughout the area.

Like the snow goose season, all hunters must adhere to North Dakota hunting regulations.

Nonresident Information

In 2005, North Dakota had three waterfowl hunting zones for nonresidents. Two zones had limits on the number of days on which nonresidents could hunt. There also is a statewide zone license (see license fees) that allows waterfowl hunting anywhere in the state, at a higher fee. These zones are subject to change annually and hunters should contact the North Dakota Game and Fish Department after July 1, 2006 for information on zones and licenses.

Nonresident waterfowl hunting licenses will be issued through the department's Bismarck office, over the Internet and by telephone.
